Step 1: Visit Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board official web portal
Step 2: Read the “instructions to Consumers”. The instruction details as follows

Step 3: Login using registered mobile number and password if you are registered with the CMWS & SB official web portal.
Step 4: If not registered, please click “Register” to create an account and register yourself. You can register using your CMC number, Mobile number and Email ID.
Step 5: In the home page click on “Pay or Check Water Tax Charges” and proceed.
Step 6: You will be redirected to online services page, click on “Click To View Water Tax & Charges Online Payment”
Step 7: In the next page under online payment enter your “Mobile Number” if you are already registered with portal. Or under “New Bill Number” Select Area, Division, Bill No., Sub code and click “Pay”
Step 8: In the next page, your name, address, tax details will be displayed. Check the total amount to be paid, tick the check box and select the bank payment gate way and click it.
Step 9: It will be redirected to your bank payment page, make the necessary payment by verifying OTP.
Step 10: In the next page you can see Payment Success message with the acknowledgement receipt for the payment made.
Step 11: Now you can generate the tax receipt by clicking “Click to view online payment receipt” under Online Payment Receipt
Step 12: You can download the water tax paid receipt and save it for future reference.
