Crop insurance is insurance for crops to protect it from the loses, damages, uncertainties and crop failures. It protects the agriculturist from the financial losses.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) Crop Insurance:
Government of India supports the farmers by protecting their crops through PMFBY crop insurance scheme. This crop insurance helps the farmers to sustain their crops and financial support to the farmers during loses and damages to their crops.
Crop Insurance Online Process in Uttar Pradesh:
We have given step by step process to understand the application process easily. It is simple to apply if you have all the required documents and the details handy. The application process details are as follow
Step 1: Please visit Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana official portal of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer welfare.
Step 2: In the homepage click “Farmer Corner” to proceed
Step 3: In the next page there will be two options given to login. One is “Login for Farmer” and the other one is “Guest Farmer”. You can select “Guest Farmer” if you don’t want to register and login.
Step 4: In the next page, you have to enter the following details to proceed
Farmer Details:
- Full Name as per Aadhaar Card
- Relationship (S/o, D/o, W/o, C/o)
- Relative Name
- Mobile Number (You will be asked to verify your mobile number using OTP, verify your mobile and you can see a success symbol in the mobile column)
- Age
- Caste Category (General, OBC, SC, ST)
- Gender
- Farmer Type (Small, Marginal, Others)
- Farmer Category (Owner, Tenant, Share Cropper)
Residential Details:
- State – You have to select the state where you belong to
- District – You have to select the district where you belong to
- Sub-district
- Residential Village/Town
- Address – You have to write down full correspondence address
- Pin code
Step 5: In Farmer ID – Select “UID”
Step 6: In UID Number – Type you Aadhaar number here and click “Verify”. Your aadhaar number will be verified and you can see a success message in the column.
Step 7: In the account details, select “Yes” under Do you have IFSC. Then type your IFSC details in the IFSC column and verify it to get a success message in the box column. If you don’t have IFSC number, you have to select “No” and search for your bank IFSC and proceed.
Step 8: Bank address details will be automatically added once you verify the IFSC details. Now type your account number and again type your same account number in the confirm account number column.
Step 9: Type the captcha and click “Create User”. In the next page you can add nominee details by clicking yes.
Step 10: Now check your Personal/Address details and Bank details and click “Next”
Step 11: In the next step you have to enter you crop details. Select your State, Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana), Select season (Kharif, Rabi), Year will be automatically detected.
Step 12: In the next step under Land details, you can see your land location mentioned. Check the details and select it if all the details are correct.
Step 13: In the next step select “Yes” if you are cultivating Mix Cropping or select “No” if you are not doing mix cropping.
Step 14: In the next step select the name of your crop.
Step 15: Select the Sowing Date (It can be checked in VAO signed copy)
Step 16: In the next step type your land survey number, sub division number, Insured Area. Then click “Add” to add your insured crop and land details.
Step 17: In the next step you have to upload the following supportive documents
- Passbook Photo
- Land Records
- Showing Certificate (Optional)
Upload all the documents and select “Upload” in every column to upload it get a success message tick mark. Then click “Next”
Step 18: You will directed to Farmer Application Preview page. You can check all the given farmer details, bank details, crop details, total area insured, total sum insured and total farmer premium to be paid. Check it and click “Submit” once all the details are correct.
Step 19: You will be redirected to Payment page. You can pay the premium through credit cards, debit cards, internet banking, through QR codes and through UPI payments.
Step 20: Make the payment and keep the acknowledge receipt for future reference. You can take a print out of the receipt or save it to the computer.
