Ration card is government card or official document issued by the concerned state governments. All the households of India can use this card to receive subsidized foods from the government operated ration shops.

There are actually 4 different types of rations cards available in Karnataka.

How to Apply for Ration Card Online in Karnataka

Step 1: Please visit Karnataka Government Official Website Ahara.
Step 2: In the Homepage, please click “e – services” shown in the menu tab.
Step 3: In the left side bar menu click “New Ration Card” under e-Ration Card drop down menu.
Step 4: In the next page under “New Online Application for Ration Card” Select “New Ration Card Request” by clicking the check box.
In the same page you have to select the type of your Ration Card Whether NPHH or PHH.
Step 5: On the next page enter your Aadhaar number and Aadhaar registered mobile number for verification.
You will be receiving OTP in your Aadhaar registered mobile to verify your identity.
Step 6: Enter OTP received in your mobile number and verify it.
Step 7: You can see your aadhaar details in the display screen if OTP is verified.
Step 8: Click “Add” to generate your application number.
Step 9: Please delete duplicate family members that is linked to your aadhaar number for new ration card application.
It will ask you the question in the screen stating that “Entered AADHAAR No. is already seeded with another member. Do you want delete it? Yes or No”. So delete duplicate members.
Step 10: On the next stage you can “Add Member” and update their relationship in the family.
Step 11: Next add your correct contact details for proper communication.
Step 12: Now check all the details and save and submit your application.

Once application submitted you can check the status of ration card online application. The details are as follows
Step 1: Visit again Karnataka Government Official Website Ahara.
Step 2: In the Homepage, please click “e – services” shown in the menu tab.
Step 3: In the left side bar menu click “New Existing RC Request Status” under e-status drop down menu.
Step 4: You will be directed to new page asking to select your location, select you location there.
Step 5: Choose “Status of Ration Card”.
Step 6: Enter your application number or ration card number and click “Go”
Step 7: Now you can see the status of your ration card on the displayed screen.
