Step by step process to change address in Voter Id
As said earlier the online process is very simple, you can change your address with just a few clicks. Before proceeding to change address online you need to have a scanned copy of all the supporting documents ready.
Step 1: Please National Voters Services Portal (NVSP) to start your process online.
Step 2: You need to log in to avail the below-mentioned services online
- To Register as a New Elector/Voter
- To Register as an Overseas Elector/Voter
- To request deletion or objection in Electoral roll
- To do correction in the elector details
- To download E-Epic
- To migrate to another assembly constituency
- To transposition within assembly constituency
You can log in using your username and password if you already have created an account with National Voter Services Portal.
Step 3: If you don’t have an account, you need to create an account by clicking “Don’t have an account, Register as a new user”. You will be redirected to another page to verify your mobile number.
Step 4: Enter your mobile number and captcha code and then click “Send OTP”. Enter the received OTP and verify your mobile number.
Step 5: Once the mobile number is verified, you will be given two options to select. Select “I have EPIC number” if you know your Electors Photo Identification Card number or select “I don’t have EPIC number” if don’t know the EPIC number.
Step 6: In the next step, you have to fill in your EPIC number if you have selected “I have EPIC number”. Then you have to fill in your email id and create a new password for your account. Then click “Register” to create a new account.
You can see a message displaying “You are registered successfully” on the screen.
Step 7: You will be asked to log in again to proceed further. Log in using the Username, password, and captcha code.
Step 8: On the home page you have to select “Correction Personal Details” on the left-hand side menu bar.
Step 9: On the next page select “Self” if you are doing it for yourself or select “Family” if you are doing it for your family. Then click “Next”
Step 10: On the next page, you have to select your language in the top right-hand corner of the page. Select your language and proceed to the next step.
Step 11: Then select your State, District, and Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency. Check your details under Applicant details. Under that, there will be an entry tab as “Please tick the entry which is to be corrected”. You can do corrections in your
- Name
- Photograph
- Address
- Date of birth
- Age
- Gender
Step 12: On the next page, enter the correct particulars in the entry to be corrected. Enter your correct and current address as per proof.
Step 13: Then you will be directed to another page to upload all your supporting documents. The details are as follows
a) You have to upload your scanned copy of your photograph under the “My Photograph” section.
b) You have to upload your scanned copy of your age proof under the” Age-proof” section.
(You can upload any one of the documents for age proof, Birth certificate, Marksheet of class 10, 8, or 5, Indian Passport, PAN Card, Driving License, or Aadhaar Letter issued by UIDAI)
c) You have to upload you scanned copy of your address proof under the “Address Proof” section.
(You can upload any one of the documents for address proof, Indian Passport, Driving License, Bank/Kisan/Post office current passbook, Ration card, Income tax assessment order, Rental agreement, Water bill, Telephone bill, Electricity bill, Gas connections bill or Post/letter/mail delivered through Indian postal department)
Step 14: Enter your Email Id, mobile number, place, and Captcha then click “Submit” to proceed.
Step 15: You will be receiving a submission successful message with a reference Id for future reference. You can track your application status on the home page using the reference number.
