Many of us know that Kedarnath temple is almost 1200 years old. Many of us also know that Kedarnath is famous for the Hindu god Shiva. Kedarnath is located near Mandakini river in Uttarakhand state. Kedarnath always has bad weather so from April to November the temple is open for public to visit Shiva. This Kedarnath is believed to have been built by the Pandavas due to their love for Lord Shiva. To see Shiva we can’t go to Kedarnath by road, we have to walk through almost 22 kilometres of hills, and there are horses to carry people who can’t walk. We have to pay for it separately.
Now a helicopter service has also been started in Kedarnath for the public and those who need it can use it on payment. Anyone who wants to go to Kedarnath should register online or offline and get a pass to go to Kedarnath.

Opening Date for Worship
According to official reports, Kedarnath is expected to be allowed for public darshan from May 6, 2023. So those who want to go to Kedarnath should do pre-registration before that. Those who want to register can register through Uttarakhand Kedarnath Devasthanam Management Board.

We can book registration through online and offline mode. Lets see how it can be done through online step by step process.
Step 1: Go to official website of kedarnath https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/ to register for Kedarnath Yatra.
Step 2: You will be directed to the homepage, there are need to register (Signup) or login if you already registered with the official portal of kedarnath. Now click “Register or Login” to proceed further.
Step 3: You need to enter all the required details click “Register”, you will be asked verify OTP through your mobile phone or email Id to complete the registration. Enter the OTP received and click “Submit” to proceed. Then you will receiving message “Congratulations, OTP verified and you are registered successfully. Now you can login to the portal”
Step 4: Click “Ok” and login again using the registered mobile number.
Step 5: You will redirected to the dashboard navigation page. There you can “Create or manage tour information” and “Add and manage pilgrims or tourist”. Now click “Create or manage tour info”. On the next page click “Add New Tour” under Plan your tour page.
Step 6: On the next page enter the details like
- Select your tour type
- Select tour duration
- No. Of Tourists
- Mode of travel for Dham
- Plan your destination
- Select date of tour
Once you filled everything, click “Save” to proceed. Once done, you will get a message saying that “Tour created successfully”. Then click “Ok”
Step 7: As a next step, you have to come back to dashboard. You should fill all the personal details like
- Full Name
- Age
- Gender
- Mobile number and emergency contact number
- Email address
- Aadhaar card number
- City, District, State and Country
Then you have upload your Passport size photograph and Identity proof.
Once uploading completed, tick the check box and click “Finish”
Step 8: Now you will be redirected to dashboard and you will receive a pop up message saying “Pilgrim added successfully, please download Yatra registration letter now”. Click “Ok”.
Step 9: Now you successfully download registration letter/certificate in pdf format.
