Eligibility Criteria to receive Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogal
- Households earning below Rs.2.5 lakh per annum and it should the cross the given limit
- Households with land holdings of fewer than 5 acres of Nansey land or less than 10 acres of Bunsey land.
- Households usage should be less than 3600 units of electricity for domestic use per year.
- There is no need to obtain income proof or land documents separately for financial qualifications and attach it to the application
Those who are not eligible to benefit from Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogal Scheme
- Households earning annual income above Rs 2.5 lakh.
- Individuals and households filing income tax returns and paying income tax with an annual family income exceeding Rs.2.5lacs
- Professionals with an annual income exceeding Rs.2.5lacs
- Employees of State, Union Government / Public Sector Undertakings / Banks, Boards, Local Bodies, Employees of Co-operative Societies and their pensioners.
- Elected People’s Representatives (except Municipal Council Ward Members). i.e. Members of Parliament, Assembly Members, District Panchayat Presidents, District Panchayat Members, Panchayat Union Presidents, Panchayat Union Members, Panchayat Council Presidents, Corporation, Municipalities, Municipality Presidents and Members
- Those who own four wheeler vehicles like car, jeep, tractor, heavy vehicle etc. for personal use.
- Owners of businesses with an annual turnover of more than Rs.50 lakhs and paying Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Families already receiving continuous social security scheme pension and government pension.
- Family members falling under any of the above ineligibility categories are not eligible to benefit from the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogal Entitlement Scheme.
Exceptions
Families with a member receiving Maintenance Allowance for Intellectually Disabled, Severely Disabled, Spinal/Spinal Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Leprosy Disability are eligible to apply. Candidates are eligible to apply if they fulfill the other eligibility criteria of the scheme and do not fall under any ineligibility category.
Eligible non-pensioner women in families receiving old-age pension from Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister’s Farmers’ Protection Scheme and Non-Organised Labor Welfare Boards are also eligible to apply for Artist Women’s Rights Scheme provided they meet other eligibility criteria of the scheme and do not fall under any ineligibility category.
Apart from disabled persons who are receiving disabled pension under the revenue department, eligible women in the family are also eligible to apply under the artist women’s rights scheme provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria of the scheme and do not fall under any ineligibility category.
