Right to Education Act (RTE Act 2009)
Right to Education Act 2009 describes the importance of education for children aged 6 to 14 years. This Act clearly states that education is important and compulsory for children of this age. Economically weak students under this Act can get free education under 14 years of age.
Documents Required for Application
- Applicant Photograph and sized should be (150 pixels X 175 Pixels)
- Aadhaar Card
- Ration Card of the parent of the guardian
- Birth certificate as age proof
- Income certificate for weaker section applicants
- Community certificate for disadvantage group applicants
- Special category certificate for disadvantaged group
Last Date of Application as per web portal
Application start date: 20.04.2023 from 1 Pm
Application end date: 18.05.2023
Right to Education Application Process
Please keep all the above mentioned documents as soft copy. All these are required when we fill the application form. Some documents other than these may be updated and requested, so please scan all the documents accordingly and keep them in your computer as soft copy. Now let’s see how to apply step by step.
Step 1: Please search in google search engine “Rte TN schools”, on the first result please click https://rte.tnschools.gov.in/ to enter in to the web portal of Tamil Nadu Government Right to Education.
Step 2: In the home page, please click “ more details” to know more details about the application process and any other supportive documents required by the RTE web portal.
Step 3: Now click “Start Application” to proceed further, you will be redirected to application page. Now you have to fill in all the required details. The details are as follows
- a) Personal Details
- Name of the child
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Religion
- Community
- Mobile number
- Eligible class as per DOB
(Date of Birth 01.08.2019 to 31.07.2020) – Eligible to apply for LKG
(Date of Birth 01.08.2017 to 31.07.2018) – Eligible to apply for 1st standard
- Email Id
You need to create in this page. Please create a strong password and memorise it for future login.
Now click “Save” and your application number will be generated. Write down the application number for future reference.
Step 4: Now click “Click here to login”. You will be redirected to the login page requested you to login again asking for application number and the password you created already. Enter the application number and password to login back again.
Step 5: Again you will be redirected to the application page. Now you have to continue filling the following details
- b) Parent details
- Details of the father/mother/guardian
- (Father’s profession and annual income should be filled)
- Category applied for
Fill in the details and click “Save” to proceed further.
Step 6: In the next page, applicant need to fill the residence address details. Fill in the address and automatically the address will be pinned in the map. Now click “Submit” and reconfirm your address as well as location in the map should be saved by clicking “Save”
Step 7: Now in the next page, applicant needs to the following documents
- Student photo (Photo size should be below 100kb
- Proof of birth (Copy of proof should be below 1mb)
- Parent ID proof (Copy of proof should be below 1mb)
- Residence address proof (Copy of proof should be below 1mb)
- Community certificate (Copy of proof should be below 1mb)
Step 8: You will be directed to the “School Selection” page. Now nearby schools will be displayed automatically in this page. Now select the schools listed by clicking the single arrow in the page. Schools will be listed within 1km radius. Now click “Save” to go to the next page.
Step 9: In this page your application will displayed for review. Please reverify the complete application and click “Final submit’ and confirm again to submit the application.
Application will be receiving a confirmation message in the mobile number. Please save the application in the computer and do not take a print out of the application for future reference.
