Water and Sewerage connection is basic necessity for every newly built house. Now Punjab government has introduced a new and updated application process to apply it online. The online application process is simple with easy methods. We have given step by step process for easy understanding. The details are as follows
Step 1: Visit Municipal Council Rupnagar an official web portal of Punjab
Step 2: In the home page menu bar click “Online services” and then click “Apply W & S” in the drop down menu
Step 3: You will be redirected to “Combined Application Form” page for water and sewerage connection
Step 4: Please fill in all the required details in the combined application form and upload all the necessary documents as mentioned in application form. The application form details are as follows

Step 5: Fill in the details, upload the supportive documents and click “Forward” to proceed
Step 6: In the next step, you will be receiving application reference number and the service request confirmation through sms and email.
Step 7: It will take few working days to process your new connection application by the concerned authorities. They may be coming and verifying the building/site to confirm the estimation charges.
Step 8: Once the verification is done, you will be intimated the estimation charges through sms and email.
Exact charges depend on the distance of the house from the main pipe connection and other related construction materials. Estimation will be given by the concerned authorities. If the main pipe connection is on the other side of your house, you have to pay additional road cutting charges.
Step 9: Visit Municipal Council Rupnagar an official web portal of Punjab. Click “Online services” and then “Online payments” and then “Water Estimation fee”
Step 10: You will be redirected to “Pay Water Estimation Fees” page. Type your application number and mobile number and click “Submit”
Step 11: Make the necessary payment through Credit cards, Debit cards, Internet banking and UPI payment methods.
Step 12: Verify the bank payment OTP and proceed with the payment.
Step 13: You will be receiving a successful message once the payment is made.
Step 14: Once everything done, you will be receiving a acknowledgement receipt along with the reference application number for future reference.
Step 15: Keep it safe to check the status of the application process and for future reference.
Step 11: Application will be processed within few working days depends on your area and the city where you live.
Step 12: You will be receiving intimation from the government once your new water and sewerage connection is approved.
